Get ready for a soul-shaking celebration of the music made famous alongside the Godfather of Soul, James Brown. Martha High, one of Brown’s most iconic longtime vocalists, brings her unmistakable high soprano falsetto and commanding stage presence to this unforgettable performance. From her early days touring with Brown in the 1960s to her defining contributions on classics like “The Big Payback” and the Original Funky Divas album, Martha’s voice helped shape the sound of funk and soul for generations.

Joining her in Funky Divas are Kelly Jarrell and Darlene Parker, both alumni of James Brown’s extended musical family and longtime collaborators with legends like Maceo Parker. Backing them is funk royalty, Fred Wesley & The New JBs. As James Brown’s former musical director, arranger, and trombonist, Fred Wesley is a true architect of funk, known for iconic grooves like “Pass the Peas” and his groundbreaking work with Parliament Funkadelic and Bootsy Collins.
