Curated by Lil’ John Roberts on drums and Larry Wilson on keys, this all star ensemble brings together some of Atlanta’s finest musicians, including Tres Gilbert on bass, Rick Watford on guitar, and Rafael Pereira on percussion. The sound is elevated further by a commanding horn section featuring Saunders Sermon, Dashill Smith, and Jamel Mitchell, with guest vocalists Anthony David, Kameron Corvet, and Yoshi channeling the smooth, introspective spirit of D’Angelo’s iconic voice.

Lil’ John Roberts brings a deeply personal connection to this music, having toured during the Voodoo era with Lucy Pearl. That firsthand experience translates into an authentic, behind the beat groove that honors D’Angelo’s revolutionary approach to soul. From Brown Sugar to Voodoo to Black Messiah, this performance celebrates music that is sensual, conscious, and fearless in its experimentation.
