From the venue:

Parry Maysun
Perry Maysun is a 23-year-old alternative hip-hop artist from New York whose work confronts substance abuse, mental health, and societal struggle with unflinching honesty, all rooted in his mission of self-compassion embodied by his mantra and brand, BYOBF (Be Your Own Best Friend). Blending intimate storytelling with forward-thinking production, and extending his vision into poetry, clothing, film, painting, and sculpture, Perry approaches each release as a fully realized artistic world. Despite enduring six months of chemotherapy, a full knee and partial femur replacement, and treatment for a life-threatening tumor in 2024, he has completed twenty four fully conceptualized albums, using music as both personal catharsis and a therapeutic outlet for listeners. Open about his battles with drug addiction, mental illness, his experience as a survivor of sexual violence and cancer, Perry transforms pain into purpose, and with his forthcoming 27-song double album Pathetic Beasts, anchored by eight color-coded singles and an immersive tour where he will be painted a different color each night, he continues to build a vulnerable, multidimensional universe centered on resilience and radical self-acceptance.
