Queen Sheba is a 2026 /three-time Grammy®-Nominated Spoken Word-Poet (2024, 2025 & 2026), 2025 TEDx Speaker, 2x NAACP Image Award-Nominee, and founder of Poetry vs. Hip-Hop®, one of the most dynamic touring platforms for poets and emcees in the country. A Creative Loafing People’s Choice Award winner for Spoken Word Artist of the Year, Sheba has appeared on Verses & Flow, 106 & Park, Married to Medicine, and The Apollo Theater and has curated live poetry showcases for more than two decades at Atlanta’s legendary Apache Café and City Winery Atlanta.
Malik Yusef
Chicago’s own Malik Yusef is a Grammy Award–winning and Grammy-nominated spoken word poet, songwriter, and cultural architect whose work has helped shape modern hip-hop. A longtime collaborator of Kanye West, Yusef has contributed to iconic projects alongside artists including Beyoncé, Jay-Z, and Common, bridging poetry and hip-hop with a voice that continues to influence generations of artists.
jessica Care moore, Poet Laureate of Detroit, founder of Black Women Rock! and Moore Black Press, is an internationally celebrated poet, recording artist, and publisher. An Apollo Legend and cultural curator, Moore has published multiple books and albums that fuse poetry, music, Hip-Hop, and activism. Her electrifying performances have made her one of the most respected voices in contemporary Poetry. On top of that - add marathon runner!
Yoshihanna
YoshiHanna is a powerhouse vocalist and rising star who captured national attention as the runner-up on The Voice (2025) under the mentorship of hip-hop icon Snoop Dogg. Known for her rich tone, emotional delivery, and genre-blending style, Yoshi seamlessly moves between soul, R&B, and contemporary pop, making every performance both technically stunning and deeply personal.
Her journey on The Voice showcased not only her vocal range but her ability to connect with audiences across generations, earning her a devoted fan base and critical praise week after week. Since the show, she has continued building momentum as a live performer, bringing a commanding stage presence and authenticity that sets her apart.

The evening will be hosted by Joyce Littel of Atlanta’s legendary V-103, bringing her signature charisma and Atlanta radio energy to guide the audience through the night’s performances.
The Experience
The show begins with a short selected open mic, offering a few poets from the audience the opportunity to perform before the headlining showcase.
The evening culminates in the signature Poetry vs. Hip-Hop® Lyrical Battle, where two poets and two MCs compete live on stage. There are no judges and no scorecards — the audience decides the winner, who takes home cash and prizes along with serious bragging rights.
Since launching in 2015, Poetry vs. Hip-Hop® has grown into a cultural movement celebrating lyrical excellence, community, and the powerful connection between poetry and hip-hop.
Expect a high-energy, uncensored night of poetry, music, culture, and connection where artists bring their best work and the audience becomes part of the show.
