Maybe I'm Amazed: McCartney Reimagined
From the venue:
A unique jazz tribute to the legendary Sir Paul McCartney, highlighting his post-Beatles career- his solo work & with the band, Wings. Iconic Atlanta pianist, Jez Graham (Francine Reed, Brian Wilson, Bruce Hampton), presents a truly surprising set of arrangements of the hits ( Silly Love Songs, Live & Let Die, My Love ) and deep cuts (Pretty Little Head, What's That You're Doing, more - even unreleased songs like All of You, from the recent film, "Man on the Run"). The mashups bring together songs from the beginning of McCartney's solo career in 1970 into his work in the 2000s. A night for McCartney fans and jazz fans alike. Graham is joined by fellow-Francine Reed bandmates, Ramon Pooser (bass) and Mike Hinton (drums). Gwen Hughes fronts the band with her distinctive earthy jazz vocals.
The historic Academy Theatre hosts the concert, 20 minutes from downtown Atlanta. Snacks, wine & beer available. Free parking.
