Cat Ridgeway & The Tourists at City Springs
CRITIC'S PICK:
Sun., August 2
Cat Ridgeway and the Tourists, Concerts by the Springs: Heritage Amphitheater/Sandy Springs - Orlando's Ridgeway and her band describe their sound as "indie rock for overthinkers" and that captures it well. A connection with Shawn Mullins, who sings a duet on her soulful, horn-enhanced 2021 single, "Give Me Love," has generated some well-deserved local attention. She has three albums, the latest, Sprinter, was released last year and will likely be focused in today's set. There are similarities to Juliana Hatfield in Ridgeway's voice and approach, and just a touch of Chrissie Hynde. Songs such as "Look Ma, No Plans!" and "Restless Leg Syndrome" show her wit and dry humor. This should be a fun outdoor summer experience from an up and coming talent. - Hal Horowitz
From the venue:
Ridgeway delivers high-energy shows blending multiple genres. A self-taught multi-instrumentalist, she and her band, The Tourists, create an electrifying, instrument-swapping live performance.Featuring
