The Generations Tour
Fri., June 19
The Generations Tour, Fox Theatre - The "generations" in this show's title apparently applies to those listening to college radio and glued to MTV in the early to mid-'80s. That's when UK headliners Human League and fellow new wavers Soft Cell and Yaz (Alison Moyet) were at their popular synth-pop peak. It's a strong lineup with the core of the Human League, featuring frontman Philip Oakey and the same two women vocalists (who joined when they were 17) on the "Don't You Want Me"-era hits, surprisingly intact. David Ball's recent 2025 passing means that Soft Cell's Non-Stop Erotic Cabaret is now comprised of only vocalist Marc Almond. Moyet's solo career has far eclipsed that of her relatively short stint as singer in Yaz, but she will likely stick closely to those songs as a strong opening act. Dust off those platform shoes and old threads and join the fun. - Hal Horowitz
