Puppeteers For Fears presents Robopocalypse: The Musical! at The Masquerade

Puppeteers for Fears, The Masquerade - Horror and science fiction comedy troupe Puppeteers for Fears is now touring the country with a cyberpunk escapade titled 'Robopocalypse: The Musical.' The premise involves the looming threat of artificial intelligence as it pertains to Jolie Daniels, a teenage hacker who inadvertently causes more trouble than she bargained for and whose survival is at stake. "This is the most ambitious show we've ever done," says playwright and director Josh Gross. "In addition to the complexity of the puppets, because of the cyberpunk themes, we're really working the multimedia angle in the staging. It's got digital backdrops, virtual reality, appliances having rap battles - everything." The involvement of puppets notwithstanding, the show's material is strictly for adults, producers warn. - Kevin C. Madigan
