Their act is Americana as it flows downstream into New Orleans. While one song may sound like a jug band, it blends smoothly into one with a strong drum and bass blues groove.
Band Leader and Songwriter Ted Pettus (playing the role of Cledus) keeps his day job teaching anatomy and neuroscience at Emory University. But his alter ego, Cledus, plays with some of Atlatna's finest musicians who bring these songs to a new level of groove.
Aside from the sound, it is worth noting that the album cover (and associated website) has works from several of the south's finest visionary folk artists."
