Spencer Kirkpatrick

Spencer Kirkpatrick is an Atlanta-based guitarist best known for his work in the ’70s Southern rock band Hydra, whose blues-influenced sound leaned more toward British heavyweights like Cream and Free than their Southern peers. A versatile and expressive player, Kirkpatrick began his career as a teenager when his band, the Atlanta Vibrations, famously opened for the Beatles in 1965. Over the decades, he has performed with and influenced many of the city's top musicians, earning respect for his melodic phrasing, distinctive slide work, and dedication to the craft.
