For those Smyrna-bound, the first thing you see when exiting I-285 at South Cobb Drive is a long impersonal stretch of gas stations, motels, and fast-food joints. If you’re stopping to get refueled food-wise, it’s worth veering just slightly off the main thoroughfare toward this tidy haven of brotherly love and Philly cheese steak goodness. The brainchild of Roy Brostrand, the South Jersey native who founded the Philly Connection in the early ’80s. With juicy, flavorful meat and generous portions, this restaurant may be the only Atlanta eatery to get the cheesesteak right.
