After 11 years, the former Atlantan and queen of Cabbagetown returns with a new album
Former Atlantan and queen of the Cabbagetown scene Kelly Hogan is set to drop a new album 11 years after the last one. Not that she hasn't been plenty busy, lending back-up vocals to the likes of Neko Case.

While I Like to Keep Myself in Pain (June 5 on Anti-) is her long-awaited return to the forefront, it features songs written by a heady list of her songwriting friends, including M. Ward, Robyn Hitchcock, Andrew Bird, Stephen Merritt, and the late Vic Chesnutt. NPR is streaming the album, which drops June 5 on Anti-. In this week's CL music feature, Hogan talks about why it took her so long to return with a solo set, and why her explicit tattoo is the perfect tribute to her career.

Hogan plays the Atlanta Botanical Garden with Neko Case on July 20. $36.50.
