RZA's new kung-fu movie brings da ruckus.
The Wu-Tang Clan's RZA has a new grindhouse-style kung fu movie coming out, complete with exploding ninjas.
After writing a surprisingly good memoir/philosophical guide, RZA is making his directorial debut with Wu-Tang Vs. The Golden Phoenix. In true Wu-Tang style, the trailer is an over-the-top homage to the martial arts movies of the 1970s, complete with grindhouse special effects and exploding ninjas.
?
RZA acts in the film alongside martial arts film star Chi Kuan Chun, members of Jackie Chan's stunt team, Shifu Shi Yan Ming, a 34th generation Shaolin monk, and Dr. King Ogun Ali Muhammad, the founder of the Universal African Fighting System. No release date has been set for the film, with the ominous claim that it will be "coming soon" at the end of the trailer. No matter how soon that is, it cannot come soon enough.
