See & Do - Festival: IFC Free Film Fest July 11 2007
Tues., July 17
Allergy sufferers, agoraphobics and shut-ins be damned – this Atlanta summer belongs to the outdoor movie screening. Adding another locale and a roster of semi-indie fare to the growing ranks of the city’s al fresco movie events, the Independent Film Channel’s traveling FREE FILM FEST makes a stop in Grant Park Tues.-Thurs., JULY 17-19, with a mega-inflatable “air” screen. The movies, in order of hilarity, include Raising Arizona, the daffy 1987 white-trash Coen brothers comedy made back when Nicolas Cage was cool; Rob Reiner’s 1987 Shrek precursor The Princess Bride; and Napoleon Dynamite. There’s also a media lab showcasing submissions from local filmmakers. Free. Festivities: 6 p.m., screenings: dusk. Boulevard and Berne Street. www.ifc.com/static/sections/freefilmfest/.
