Photo Galleries - Exotic Dancer National Championships
Pink Pony South, one of Atlanta's beloved strip clubs, was the crowded home of this competition May 28-30. Judged by their talents — skill at such things as fire eating, acrobatics and writhing impressively in water — the performance quality of each act was stunning in its complexity. Indiana Jones-style sets replete with rolling "rock" and cauldron, jack-in-the-box gimmicks and shimmery stuff that apparently makes its user impervious to fire. There was also the unforgettable use of hand puppets. Though dozens competed, only one was crowned the best exotic dancer in the nation.
