Teens attack Delta employees on MARTA train

Police: Victims hit in head with soda can, punched

Bad news from over the weekend: Two out-of-state Delta employees were attacked late Saturday night after being, according to witnesses, "bum rushed" by nearly 30 teenagers on a MARTA train.

According to MARTA police and news reports, a large group of teenagers boarded the southbound train at downtown's Garnett station around midnight.

One of the teens — a black male between the age of 13 and 18 years old — then allegedly pushed one of the victims to the ground before hitting him in the head with a can of soda and taking his wallet. The police report says one of the suspect's friends — a black male between the age of 16 and 18 years old — started punching the other employee before snatching his wallet. Two MARTA riders then separated the victims from the suspects.

What makes matters worse: Train doors didn't open until the West End station, leaving suspects and victims riding the train together until Oakland City.

WSB-TV reports the group of teens chanted "B.F.P.L." No telling if they were referencing Bank First, Play Later, an Atlanta rap group. Here's one of the group's videos. Turn down the speakers if you're at work.

MARTA says no arrests have been made but an investigation is underway.
