Mysterious streetcar-like object spotted in Downtown

  • Atlanta’s new new streetcar rolled onto track for first time on Edgewood Avenue.



The Atlanta streetcar’s not expected to start shuttling residents, workers, students, and tourists between the King Center and Centennial Olympic Park until May. But the vehicle, which was transported from Sacramento, is now safe and sound in Atlanta.

Update, 3:32 p.m.: Angel Poventud sends another photo. We’re told the streetcar’s “wrapping” peeled as crews guided the vehicle into the maintenance facility under the Downtown Connector.
