Chastain Art Center Hosts Emerging Artist Award Ceremony

The Office of Cultural Affairs honors this year's Emerging Artists Award Recipients.

The Emerging Artist Award is aimed at highlighting up-and-coming local artists and giving them resources to take their work to the level. This year, the roster is full of talent, of course.

This year's recipients include Scott Daughtridge, Fred Foster, Kenya Freeman, Tracy Nicole, Kris Pilcher, Rachael Riedinger, and Natt Taylor. The emerging artists are recognized in the categories of literary arts, fashion design, and visual arts.

“I am currently working on expanding my ‘Well Wishes’ project from Elevate Atlanta 2014 and turning it into a digital platform for the Office of Cultural Affairs,” Pilcher told CL in an interview about his upcoming project with OCA.

So stop by the Mayor's Office of Cultural Affairs' reception and ceremony on Wed., Mar. 16, at Chastain Art Center & Gallery and meet this year's honorees. The artists will be displaying their work at the gallery until April 2.
