ATLwood: Is Zombieland 2 in the works?
The Georgia Film Academy has completed building it's new soundstage and Lee Daniel's ATL based series is coming to Fox.
>> More movies, more jobs, more cash: The Georgia Film Academy has completed its new soundstage at Pinewood Atlanta Studios (where Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is currently being filmed!).
The soundstage will be used to train film and entertainment industry hopefuls. It will also help Georgia's film industry continue on it's on it's path of economic success, providing up to 5,000 new jobs. Georgia's film industry roped in $6 billion in the last two years and created nearly 80,000 jobs.
The soundstage will be home to Semester on Set, a larger initiative by The Georgia Film Academy. Semester on Set is a 10-week course that kicks off this May, and it aims to give students hands on experience in the industry. The course will be also be offered at institutions included in the University System of Georgia and the Technical College System of Georgia.
>> Rumor has it: Zombieland 2, the follow-up to most adorable zombie flick ever, Sony Pictures' Zombieland, is going to begin filming here in Atlanta this summer. After a logo for the film debuted at CinemaCon in Las Vegas earlier this year, the streets were buzzing and now it's looks like something is going to happen! However, there is no official official word yet. It is unclear if the first film's stars, including Emma Stone and Jesse Eisenberg, will be back dodging zombie homicide for the re-boot, but we'll keep you posted.

======>> The "Baywatch" movie, starring Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Zac Effron, is still filming in locations around Atlanta and Savannah and "Baywatch" O.G. Pamela Anderson was spotted on set! She won't be reviving her role as C.J. Parker from the original series, but fans will probably still be excited to see her return.
>> "Star" is born: Still basking in the über-success of "Empire," Fox and "Empire" creator Lee Daniels are teaming up once again to bring us "Star."The series, which will be set and filmed here, focuses on the careers of three aspiring singers. Newcomers Ryan Destiny (below, left), Brittany O'Grady (below, center) and Jude Demorest (below, right) will star alongside Queen Latifah and Lenny Kravitz.
Fox ordered 13 episodes of the show and it will be featured in the network's 2016-2017 season lineup.
