Quick Bites: Amorino gelato moves into town, Venkman's expands outdoors, and more

From now through June 11, all Southern Proper Hospitality restaurants (Gypsy Kitchen, The Southern Gentleman, Smokebelly BBQ, The Big Ketch, The Blind Pig, and Milton’s Cuisine & Cocktails) are serving three special cocktails, with $1 from every drink going directly to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS).

Amorino, a Paris-based gelato company that has locations in Las Vegas, Chicago, and Boston, has filed plans with City of Atlanta to open its first Atlanta location at Lenox Square Mall, reports What Now Atlanta. Amorino serves up its gelato in a signature rose-shaped scoop at over 100 worldwide locations.

ICYMI, Kevin Gillespie opens his new backyard beer garden, Communion, Fri., April 15 at 4 p.m. at his popular restaurant, Revival, in Decatur. The German-themed outdoor gathering spot will offer session beers, Old World wines, batch cocktails, snacks from the food truck, games, and much more.

Downtown is getting another helping of smothered hash browns. Waffle House, which currently has four locations in Downtown Atlanta, plans to bring another outpost to 300 Marietta St., according to What Now Atlanta.

Old Fourth Ward restaurant and music venue, Venkman's, has added a new, 44-seat outdoor dining  area adjacent to the main entrance.

Rize Artisan Pizza and Salads will open its first resto in West Midtown at 1510 Ellsworth Industrial Boulevard, according to What Now Atlanta.
