Indigo Road, an Italian concept located in Alpharetta’s Avalon development, has appointed Kathleen McDaniel as executive pastry chef. McDaniel will oversee and execute “a revolving menu of enticing desserts for guests” and will lead and train the culinary team.

After opening just this past October, Varasano's Pizzeria has closed its location at Perimeter Mall in Dunwoody, reports Tomorrow’s News Today.

Bagel catering operation Emerald City Bagels has moved into the former Gravity Pub space in East Atlanta Village and plans to open a 2,000-square-foot shop early next year. Emerald City plans to use the new space to offer and expanded menu that could feature bagel flavors such as pumpkin and rye alongside new items like pretzels.

The Consulate, the new restaurant from Honey Bubble’s Doug and Mei Hines, is now open at 10 10th St., according to What Now Atlanta. The resto features dim sum lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and will serve a global tapas for dinner service from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Savannah-based B's Cracklin' BBQ plans to open in the former Hottie Hawgs BBQ space in Northwest Atlanta near SunTrust Park, this fall. B’s (2061 Main Street N.W.) was founded by husband and wife team Bryan "B" and Nikki Furman, is known for its “whole-hog, heritage-breed barbecue,” reports What Now Atlanta.

On Sat., June 25, WonderFarm, an event benefiting Community Farmers Markets that blends cuisine from Atlanta’s most celebrated chefs and art curated by Kris Pilcher, will take place in Armour Yards from 7 to 11 p.m.
