Near-nude chefs stir attention for charity
The Farmer Fund hosts calendar release party later this month
Ever wonder what some of Atlanta’s hottest chefs hide behind their aprons? Get a look see soon. Some of Atlanta’s favorites stripped off and posed for pages in a calendar to aid The Farmer Fund and they are celebrating with a party. Through creative fundraising, The Farmer Fund helps local farmers rebound from natural disasters affecting their farms by providing grants. They created the second annual Farmer Fund calendar filled with pics of 13 chefs (so you know a couple have paired up) and more th an 20 farmers who grow and forage for their food. This year’s theme is secret until the reveal party but we do know that chefs traded their chef whites for only Hedley and Bennett aprons.
The big reveal happens on Mon., Aug. 22 beginning at 5:30 p.m. at Cathedral of St. Philip in Buckhead. Guests get the first gander of Staplehouse’s Ryan Smith, Kimball House’s Jeff Wall, The Little Tart’s Sarah O’Brien, Empire State South’s Hugh Acheson, and Pine Street Market’s Rusty Bowers, to name a few. Local Three’s Chris Hall is the MC for a live auction. The list of local breweries providing beer is large, including a specially brewed beer: Service Berry Saison, crafted by Second Self Beer Co. from locally foraged service berries. Check out the restaurants providing food: 1Kept, Bocado, Cooks and Soldiers, Farm Burger, Ladybird Grove and Mess Hall, Makan, Saltyard, Smokebelly BBQ, and Wrecking Bar Brewpub.
