Chef Evan Cordes (previously of Cakes & Ale, Serpas, H. Harper Station) opened Cast Iron (701 Highland Ave. N.E., Suite 5) in the former Last Word space in Old Fourth Ward last week. The first restaurant from Cordes, Cast Iron’s menu includes king trumpet and oyster mushrooms, duck confit gaufrettes, buttermilk-marinated whole chicken wings, and cider-brined pork ribs. Cast Iron is open for dinner from 5 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday.

This Sat., Dec. 3, Tiff’s Treats will open its third metro location in Sandy Springs at 1165 Perimeter Center West. During the grand opening, a box of a dozen of the most popular cookies will be just $3 (up to four boxes). Additionally, the first 40 guests will get free gift cards and be entered to win free cookies for a year. For each box sold, Tiff’s Treats will give $5 to local nonprofit Ian’s Friends Foundation.

Sublime Doughnuts (2566 Briarcliff Road) in N. Druid Hills earned its kosher certification last month. The Atlanta Kosher Commission declared all toppings, doughnuts, ice creams, sauces, and flavored coffees kosher and dairy.

Michael Lo and George Yu, both of Taiyo Ramen, have opened Suzy Siu’s Baos at Krog Street Market. The duo dishes out six varieties of steamed buns, five seasonal side options, four combos, and à la carte.

The owners of artisan, small batch ice cream spot Butter and Cream (416 Church St., Decatur) announced via Facebook that they will open a second location in downtown Roswell. The new creamery will be located off Canton Street with an exact address and opening date to be announced early next year.

Located in Glenwood Park, the Cake Hag’s new home is a stone’s throw from 3 Parks Wine and Gunshow.
