Krispy Kreme takes another trip around the sun
A celebration you doughnut want to miss
Happy 81st Birthday, Krispy Kreme! On July 27, 1937 in North Carolina the world was changed forever, graced with the simple beauty of a glazed doughnut. The famous “hot light”, which signals fresh donuts are in the works, was originally only lit during production hours between midnight and 4 a.m. But thankfully, the symbolic glowing light now blesses the daylight hours. To celebrate 81 years of glazed glory, Krispy Kreme offers not one, but two ways to celebrate. The guys at KK are offering a birthday treat, available through August 2, cut from vanilla birthday cake dough, smothered with confetti sprinkles on the inside and out, and glazed in classic original glaze. Gluttons know that one doughnut is never enough, so go all out and take advantage of the one-day-only deal of buy one dozen doughnuts, get one dozen original glazed doughnuts for just $1 on July 27. Put diets on vaca for now — it’s a birthday party, after all.
Free. 6 a.m.-11 p.m. Fri., July 27. Krispy Kreme. All participating U.S. locations. www.krispykreme.com.
