The International Downtown Association is promoting the creation of a federal tax credit to support the conversion of obsolete and excess office spaces into residential or mixed-use properties in the wake of changing work patterns brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic. According to a press release, the Revitalizing Downtown Act, introduced in the U.S. Congress last month, would assist Atlanta-based corporations such as Georgia Power and Coca-Cola “and help our cities evolve and grow while supporting families and small businesses.”
