NEWS BRIEF: Spelman College faculty avoiding in-person classes due to unclear guidelines
Spelman College faculty pushes back at its administration over Covid policy.
Some faculty members at Spelman College are refusing to teach classes in person due to a lack of clarity on COVID-19 safety guidelines from administrators and will for the time being continue virtual instruction. “Much to our disappointment,” they said in a message to students last week, “faculty have not received clear and enforceable protocol and safety guidelines that will ensure our health and wellbeing when teaching face-to-face. While awaiting acceptable responses to these concerns, we have decided not to teach in-person. Most faculty will use alternative instructional methods for course delivery.” ajc.com
