The Joe Biden administration has appointed Atlanta city official Reese McCranie to serve as senior advisor for the Office of Public Affairs at U.S. Customs & Border Protection. “As a member of the LGBTQ+ community, I am especially proud that the agency, its leadership and the broader administration are reflective of our nation’s great diversity,” McCranie said. “It is a tremendous honor to work alongside the more than 60,000 dedicated individuals at CBP.” McCranie helped establish Atlanta’s first-ever Office of Equity, Diversity & Inclusion, focusing on health disparities, criminal justice reform, LGBTQ affairs, economic empowerment and inclusion and workforce development. projectq.us
