The push to turn Buckhead into a city has been squashed — for the time being. Republican state leaders on Friday rebuffed the idea of letting residents vote on de-annexation later this year. House Speaker David Ralston said legislation will not be considered during the current session after encountering opposition from Senate leader Geoff Duncan and others.
