Peta Protest in Seattle
Animal rights activists pulled an unusual stunt Wednesday morning at a Starbucks on Ponce De Leon Avenue in protest against the pricing of vegan milk options. They brought along a lifelike calf stuffed inside a “bloody” coffee cup intended to represent the calves torn away from their mothers and killed so that humans can consume their milk. PETA and other groups are claiming that Starbucks is championing social causes while at the same time “imposing a surcharge that harms cows, the planet, and those who are lactose intolerant — most of whom are people of color.” peta.org
