NEWS BRIEF: Cheshire Bridge Road could reopen by fall, DOT says
One more bridge, one more step
Cheshire Bridge Road in Atlanta could finally reopen to traffic by late October, the Atlanta Department of Transportation announced Friday. The normally busy thoroughfare has been closed between Woodland Avenue and Faulkner Road since August 2021 after fire destroyed the bridge over South Fork Peachtree Creek.
The DOT had originally estimated construction would be completed within one year, city records show, but warned that delays could occur due to procurement, weather or unforeseen issues. Details: atldot.atlantaga.gov
