NEWS BRIEF: Google unveils new office building in Midtown

Tech giant Google now has more than a thousand employees in Georgia, company officials said during a tour Wednesday of their vast new office space on West Peachtree Street. Google, which first established a presence in Atlanta in 2001, already has a Midtown location nearby as well as a data center in Douglas County.
During the tour, Google executive Matthew Pritchard touted the company’s program that offers free “Career Certificates” to technical college students in Georgia, and announced the firm would be contributing $1 million to the National Urban League to support workforce training for underrepresented communities.
