Stained Radiance is the collaboration between guitarist Nels Cline and painter Norton Wisdom, both masters of their medium, joining together for sonic and visual improvisation. Armed with his guitar and effects, Cline constructs lush soundscapes brought about by Wisdom’s brush-stroke spontaneity. Wisdom in turn follows Cline’s auditory twists creating and recreating on the same canvas.Nels Cline has been a major force as a guitarist and improviser since making his recorded debut in 1978. Norton Wisdom is a performance artist who spontaneously paints images onstage with musical ensembles, capturing the essence of the live moment.
