Atlanta Lyric Theatre gets into the Halloween spirit with Mel Brooks’ classic musical comedy Young Frankenstein, opening Fri., Oct. 23. Young Frankenstein reimagines Mary Shelly’s horror opus with a campy twist, featuring songs such as “The Transylvania Mania” and “He Vas My Boyfriend.” When Fredrick Frankenstein inherits his grandfather’s castle and laboratory, he is faced with continuing his family’s experiments of reanimating the dead. Will young Frankenstein’s foray into human flesh lead him to true love? Atlanta Lyric Theatre presents a special Halloween performance with complimentary snacks and drinks, an onstage costume contest, and a cast trick-or-treat after the show. But don’t forget, it’s pronounced “Fronkensteen.”
