From the venue:
Composer, improviser, and tenor and sopranino saxophone player Larry Ochs (Rova Saxophone Quartet), guitarist and Big Ears Festival MVP Nels Cline (Wilco), and drummer Gerald Cleaver (Roscoe Mitchell, Joe Morris, etc.) are on the road playing songs together on the heels of releasing their latest offering, What Is To Be Done (Clean Feed). Ochs and Cleaver are also still reeling from the arrival of their 2018 duo CD, Songs of the Wild Cave (Rogue Art).
All three players are improv masters of the highest order, with a shared history and vocabulary that resonate on stage with the power, subtlety, mystery, and force of all the dark matter that binds the universe together.
Outside Voice, the trio featuring Kenito Murray (percussion), Quinn Mason (saxophones/electronics), and Rafael Villanueva (guitar) also performs.
