Celebrate the melding of science, technology and art through the lens of African culture at this year’s National Black Arts Festival. In part thanks to the release of the movie Black Panther and its subsequent widespread popularity across cultures, the term ‘Afrofuturism’ is slowly becoming a well-known expression throughout all of popular culture. That’s why the theme of the 2019 NBAF Gala has been coined ‘Imagine Afrofuturism’. With live entertainment, a silent auction and local cuisine, this year’s gala is the perfect chance to acknowledge the beauty and possibility that can flourish from a rising of black voices and culture.
