Homeschool Day: Tracks to Runways
From the venue:
In the late 1830s, the city we call Atlanta was born under a different name at the termination of the Western and Atlantic Railroad. Today, Atlanta is the home to the world’s busiest airport. How did this transformation take place? Spend the day with us as we connect the past to the future. Hear stories about individuals and events that contributed to Atlanta’s growth, learn about “The Gulch” and the city’s viaducts, reconnect with the Beltline, and see how transportation (in all its forms) continues to impact Atlanta today.
Atlanta History Center offers special programs for homeschool students and their families. During these day-long programs, explore a different subject through engaging hands-on experiences, performances, historic simulations, and a variety of activities designed for kids from toddler to teen.
