CANCELED: Sunday FUNday: Rangoli

Sunday March 22, 2020 01:00 PM EDT
Cost: Free

From the venue:

The Carlos Museum is open, and our standard operating hours remain unchanged. However, in accordance with current Emory University policy, docent-led tours have been canceled through the end of May, and our programs have been canceled or rescheduled. Visit carlos.emory.edu for updates.

Rangoli, graphic patterns created from rice flour, grains, or flowers, are made on thresholds to welcome the Hindu deities Lakshmi, the goddess of prosperity, and Bhudevi, the goddess of the Earth. Visit the special exhibition Transcendent Deities of India, then stop in the studio to create your own rangoli using traditional materials like rice flour and brightly-colored sand.

Sunday FUNday is a free, drop-in event for all families. No registration is required.

Support for Sunday FUNdays is provided by The David R. Clare and Margaret C. Clare Foundation.
