From the venue:
We proudly welcome back former Atlanta resident and co-founder of the ATL Collective, cult singer-songwriter and author David Berkeley. Berkeley's gift as a songwriter is in finding the light through the darkness, the hope in the hardship. His gift as a performer is in weaving hilarious stories in between his heartbreaking songs. Berkeley has been called a "musical poet,"? by the San Francisco Chronicle, "a double fantasy of Nick Drake and Donovan,"? by Rollingstone.com, and praised by The New York Times for his "lustrous, melancholy voice." He was a guest on This American Life, and he's won many songwriting awards and honors including ASCAPs Johnny Mercer Songwriting Award.
Berkeley has released seven studio albums, one live album, and authored two books which pair with two of his records. His latest release is his most personal and profound: Oh Quiet World, written during the lockdown after his family escaped Spain due to Corona. It is an album everyone should hear, featuring what Berkeley does best: putting graceful poetry and deep philosophy to delicately beautiful melodies. He is also half of Trans-Atlantic theatrical duo sensation, Son of Town Hall, performing at Callanwolde Fine Arts Center on December 3rd. Perhaps most surprisingly (to David included), Berkeley's music has been remixed by EDM DJs around the world.
