From the venue:

Guest conductor Anthony Parnther makes his Atlanta Symphony Orchestra Delta Classical Series debut with a program close to his heart. As a veteran Hollywood bassoonist, Parnther has played on many of the Star Wars soundtracks. He comes to Atlanta to conduct a bassoon concerto by film legend John Williams (Star Wars, Harry Potter). Ever the visual composer, Williams’s Concerto for Bassoon, titled The Five Sacred Trees, draws its inspiration from Celtic mythology. For the Concerto, the ASO welcomes an old friend, one-time principal bassoonist Andrew Brady. Parnther opens the concert with a world premiere by the rising-star film composer Chanda Dancy, and Florence Price, who overcame racial and gender barriers to compose works performed by major American orchestras in the 1930s and 40s.
