From the venue:
How does a contemporary artist build a relationship with a subject and art form that is thousands of years old? Enjoy afternoon tea and pastries as ceramicist Ana Vizurraga shares her research and process for understanding and recreating a two-part mold-making process utilized in 3rd and 4th-century BCE Greece, the same process used to create the Tanagra figurines featured in the exhibition Recasting Antiquity: Whistler, Tanagra, and the Female Form. Learn more about human and material resources, the making of these terracotta figurines, and how our relationship to art changes over time.
This program is free and open to the public. No registration is required.
