May 5th is a day of several celebrations: Holocaust Remembrance, Cinco de Mayo, African-American Heritage, and the 133rd Anniversary of the opening of Carnegie Hall. The music included in our concert “Confluence: Coming Together” includes selections that are connected to each of these focuses. The “Magnificat” by Durante is a masterwork that our director, Thomas Yackley, will be directing at Carnegie Hall in June this summer. Many of our members will participate under his baton in a chorus of over 100 performers in that esteemed hall.
