To mark National Silent Film Day, the Atlanta Chapter of the American Theatre Organ Society will be hosting a screening of the 1920 silent film “THE MARK OF ZORRO” on Thursday, Sept. 26 at the Plaza Theatre in Atlanta, Ga at 7:30 p.m. This one-of-a-kind opportunity offers the chance to experience a silent film accompanied by a traditional theatre organ, of which there are only a handful remaining in the United States and the state of Georgia.
“THE MARK OF ZORRO” (1920) stars Douglas Fairbanks as Don Diego Vega, who pretends to be an indolent fop as a cover for his true identity, the masked avenger Zorro. ATOS Atlanta’s Ken Double will provide the live theatre organ accompaniment.
This screening will also feature an educational presentation about the theatre organ shown before the film.
