WHAT THE WORLD NEEDS NOW: The Bacharach Songbook Live

CRITIC’S PICK
Sun., April 20
What the World Needs Now;The Burt Bacharach Songbook Live in Concert, Buckhead Theatre—The always unpredictable Todd Rundgren, just back from tours of Australia and Japan performing his own music, is the headlining name leading this ensemble playing the iconic songs of Burt Bacharach. Singer Wendy Moten handles the majority of vocals, many of which Dionne Warwick made famous, as the nine-piece outfit reproduces the highlights of the songwriter’s long list of hits. It’ll be a professional, classy evening where you’ll know almost every song, especially since the music is conducted by Bacharach arranger/music director Rob Shirakbari. Rundgren has been a lifelong fan, so this checks off a to-do box for him. —Hal Horowitz
