Cardinal Black, Vinyl — This oddly named Welsh bluesy trio has only recorded two studio albums but has already sold out the venue months in advance. Like the similarly styled Teskey Brothers, the group creates moving, rugged if somewhat slick R&B based originals. They are fronted by singer Tom Hollister whose tough voice and earnest performances make him one of the most stirring singers currently working the blue-eyed soul genre. Listen for tracks from the recently released Midnight at the Valencia, an album sure to be included on some 2025 Top 10 lists. One listen to the terrific “Your Spark (Blows Me to Pieces)” is all anyone needs as proof of their authenticity and talent. — Hal Horowitz
