Ensemble VIM - viMOSAIC

CRITIC’S PICK
Tue., Mar. 25
Ensemble vim, Atlanta’s all women-run contemporary chamber music collective, closes out its 2025 season with “viMOSAIC,” a free concert at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church. Ensemble vim specializes in performing music by living composers, especially those with strong ties to the southeastern U.S.
The title of the program refers to the collaborative nature of the concert, which features ensemble vim together with the Mosaic String Quartet. The latter is an all-female group of color, formed in 2021 and dedicated to performing classical works by BIPOC (black, indigenous and people of color) composers.
The program at St. Luke’s includes Reena Esmail’s “Piano Quintet,” Caroline Shaw’s “Thousandth Orange,” Scott Lee’s “Tourbillon,” Isang Yun’s “Tapis” and Lauren McCall’s “To Cover You.” – Doug DeLoach
