Collective Soul, Live, Ameris Bank Amphitheatre — It’s always a lovefest when Collective Soul, Stockbridge, GA’s favorite export, plays their home state. Although the veteran post-punk rockers didn’t notch any hits from the sprawling, 20 track Here to Eternity (2024), it was filled with strong, well-crafted songs showing the Ed Roland fronted outfit was far from just treading water, cashing in on their old popular tunes. In contrast, Live hasn’t released much new in a decade, preferring to recreate ‘90s alt-rock standards “Throwing Copper” and “Alone,” now thirty years old. — Hal Horowitz
