Elvis Costello & The Imposters With Charlie Sexton

CRITIC’S PICK:  Elvis Costello & the Imposters, Charlie Sexton, Coca-Cola Roxy — The tour is called “Radio Soul:The Early Songs of Elvis Costello,” which is all you need to know. Costello and his veteran band blow through about 30 songs from his first decade or so, touching on almost-hits (“Alison,” “Accidents Will Happen,” “(What’s So Funny ‘Bout) Peace Love and Understanding,” “Radio Radio”), along with deeper album tracks. Some are rearranged to fit into an acoustic set, but most of the audience will know the words to virtually everything. It’s over 2 ½ hours of tunes the 70 year old Costello may not play again live, so this might be the last chance you get to hear them in that context, more than enough impetus to check this out. Charlie Sexton does his own set then joins the Imposters on second guitar. — Hal Horowitz
