Want to connect with fellow innovators and future business leaders? The Perimeter College Hub for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (PCHIE) is hosting a kickoff event at the Clarkston campus, and we want you there! Come see what we're all about and learn about the amazing opportunities we have lined up for students this semester.

This semester we've got workshops designed to help you think like an entrepreneur, opportunities to attend national conferences where you'll meet industry leaders, and a chance to compete in our annual Perimeter College Pitch Competition this November!  At the kickoff you will hear more about these opportunities, learn about on-campus and community resources for student entrepreneurs and innovators, and be inspired by our keynote speaker Dr. Alyssa Combs.

More about our Keynote Speaker: Dr. Combs, a Perimeter College alumnus, is an industry leader who has had the honor of being recognized and awarded with a Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award by President Joe Biden in May 2024. She has also been recognized by Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce Young Professionals “35 Under 35”, Georgia State Alumni “40 Under 40”, and Business Elite Awards “40 Under 40,” in 2023. She is an Atlanta native and founder of GeoTechTure, as well as several other ventures. She continues to be a visionary for creative ideas, streamlined processes and technology influenced innovation.

What is the PCIC? The Perimeter College Innovation Challenge is a semester-long (Sept 9 - Nov 19) program for student innovators and entrepreneurs that culminates in a Pitch Competition in which student teams compete for seed money to take their ideas, products, or businesses to the next level. Throughout the semester student participants will work with mentors, attend workshops, and network with other innovators as they develop their ideas and work on creating a successful pitch. The Kickoff event is the first PCIC event of the semester, but students have until September 18 to apply to participate!

We strongly encourage any students interested in or planning to participate in the PCIC to attend the Kickoff, but we hope you will join us even if you are not participating! Anyone interested in innovation or entrepreneurship will find this event beneficial. After the event, you will be invited to visit tables and network with campus and community partners who will have more information about programming they offer to help innovators and entrepreneurs succeed.

2:45 - 3:00 : Tabling and networking as you enter

3:00 - 3:15 : Welcome & Introduction to PCHIE and PCIC

3:15 - 3:50 : Remarks from GSU Entrepreneurship and Innovation Institute, TiE Atlanta, and Perimeter College Dean's Office

3:50 - 4:50 : Words from and Q & A with Keynote Speaker Dr. Alyssa Combs

4:50 - 5:00 : Final remarks from PCHIE and conclusion

5:00 - 5:30 : Tabling and Networking in CN building outside bookstore with campus and community partners*

• Campus and community partners include: The Entrepreneurship and Innovation Institute, Creative Media Institute, Institute for Biomedical Sciences, Start ME Atlanta, TiE Atlanta, Goodie Nation, student finalists from the Community College Innovation Challenge, and more.
