Herb Alpert & The Tijuana Brass
CRITIC'S PICK:
Mon., March 30
Herb Alpert & The Tijuana Brass, Symphony Hall - It's not every day, or year, that a 91-year-old artist who has sold 72 million records takes the stage at this venerable venue. But veteran pop trumpeter/record label executive (A&M) Albert is very much alive and well, delivering all the Whipped Cream and Other Delights hits the (mainly) greying audience comes to hear. Alpert also takes audience questions and travels with a multi-media presentation that highlights his 60-something year career, making this more than just a concert. You'll know every song, from "The Lonely Bull" (1962) and "This Guy's In Love With You" (1968) to "Rise" (1979) and his most recent album 50 (2024), prepare for a trip down memory lane as Alpert takes a well-deserved, and likely final, victory lap. - Hal Horowitz
