From the venue:

Join us on April 9th in welcoming Amanda Nguyen, nobel-peace prize nominee and best-selling author interviewed by Tyralynne Frazier, PhD, MPH lead Research Scientist with the SEE Learning Program.

In 2014, after experiencing sexual harm as an undergraduate student, Nguyen founded her non-profit organization, RISE. She witnessed firsthand the impact of systems on survivors and decided to act by creating the Survivor Bill of Rights.

This groundbreaking legislation, which safeguards the rights of survivors in the United States, was passed unanimously by Congress in 2016. In 2022, Amanda brought her vision to the United Nations, where it also received unanimous approval. Nguyen will share her inspiring journey of resilience, compassion, and legislative advocacy that is documented in her memoir Saving Five: A Memoir of Hope.
